Health Literacy Consulting
As a member of the Hudson Valley Health Literacy Coalition and Co-founder of Say Ah!, a health literacy organization, I am pleased to be serving as a consultant on a COVID-related writing project, Pandemic Reflections. The project centers on a series of workshops in which community members in Westchester and Rockland counties will have the opportunity to write about their experiences related to COVID and its impact on their lives. This project focuses on vulnerable members in these communities.
This program is supported by funding from Health Research Inc. (HRI) in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Bureau of Health Equity and Community Engagement by grant number OT21-2103, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of HRI, NYSDOH, or CDC.
My years of experience as a health literacy advocate and plain language editor as well as a poet, essayist, writing coach, and creative writing editor, will allow me to facilitate the writing workshops and all aspects of this project through these multi-faceted lenses.
